Clarence "Rawhide" Allen, age 69. died on Tuesday, May 19. 2009 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Hubbard and Rev, Tommy East officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Abbey West. Mr. Allen was an Eastman native but had lived in Savannah for the past 60 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Bible Baptist Church. Mr. Allen retired from CSX Railroad and was a tree surgeon. He was preceded in death by his parents. Leon Jackson and Nellie Cain Allen and a brother. Edison Allen. Survivors include his wife; three daughters; four brothers; two sisters; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Hubbard and Rev. Tommy East officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West. Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors of Savannah was in charge of arrangements.
