Obituary

MRS. CATHERYN YVONNE KING LOZANO, age 90, of Gresston, GA, died Sunday, May 18, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, May 24, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Myron Parkerson and Mrs. Kim Parkerson officiating, with interment in Harrelson Cemetery in McRae, GA. Catheryn was born in Poulan, GA on May 1, 1935, to the late Libby King and Carrol King. She married at 16 and began her family with her first husband, Lawrence Taylor. They had three wonderful children, Kathy, Johnny, and Shelia. In 1957, Lawrence passed away and she raised her three children as a homemaker. She later married Charles Ball, and was blessed with three more wonderful children, Teresa, Debra, and Charles. She and Charles raised their six children in Warner Robins, GA while they both worked at Robins AFB. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was affectionately known as “Maw Maw” to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, she married again to Roman “Ray” Lozano, and they enjoyed their retirement years together, until his passing in 2004. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of God, enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, cooking for her family, taking care of her cat “Lil Bud”, and loved to enjoy the Christmas season. Along with her parents, Catheryn was preceded in death by her Husbands, Lawrence Taylor, Charles Ball, Sr., and Roman Lozano, Son, Johnny Taylor, Daughter, Teresa Ball, Grandchildren, Eddie Mullins, Shannon Settles, Eddie Ball, and Matthew Johnson, and Siblings, Tommy King, Jerry Burnette, and Janice Paqura. She is survived by her Daughters; Son; Daughter-in-law; 15 Grandchildren; Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren; Brother; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Saturday, May 24.
