Obituary

MRS. BOBBIE JEAN CANNON FLOYD, age 85, of Eastman, GA, formerly of Hawkinsville, GA, gained her Heavenly wings Sunday, October 17, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, October 21, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Waters officiating, with interment in Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville. Mrs. Floyd was born in Milan, attended Telfair County High School, and was a graduate of cosmetology school in the 1950s. She was a dedicated member of Broad Street Baptist Church in Hawkinsville and was very active and served in many capacities throughout her time at Broad Street Baptist. She worked as a beautician for numerous years at several beauty salons including Bluebird Beauty Shop and Lucy’s Beauty Shop, and she provided services at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home for many years. Bobbie was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and church. She was the daughter of the late Bessie Mae Hilliard Cannon and Wiley Cannon, and was preceded in death by 2 Husbands, Johnnie B. Sheffield and Dan Floyd, and a Brother, Wiley Cannon, Jr. She is survived by her Daughter – Teresa Ann Sheffield Crabb (Danny) of Eastman; 2 Grandchildren – Jon Daniel Crabb (Katie) of Hawkinsville and Rene Danielle Crabb (Kalieb) of Calhoun, GA; Great-Grandson – William Harper Crowder of Calhoun; Sister – Frances Thompson of Milan; 2 Brothers – Chester L. Cannon (Shirley) of Milan and John Richard “Ricky” Cannon of McRae; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the Crabb residence, 97 Log Cabin Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Thursday, October 21. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Broad Street Baptist Church, 285 Broad St, Hawkinsville, GA 31036.
