MR. CHARLES DARRELL THORNBURG, SR., age 75, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, June 19, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Emory Howell and Rev. Arnold Rye officiating, with interment in Bracewell Family Cemetery in Dublin. Charles was a native of Barberton, Ohio, of the Baptist Faith, a 1964 graduate of McEachern High School in Powder Springs, GA, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a military policeman in England during the Vietnam War, and a senior warehouse supervisor for the Georgia Power Company in Forest Park, GA for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, painting, bowling, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was son of the late Caddie Wilma Copeland Thornburg and Judson Harmon Thornburg, and was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Abbigail Stewart Thornburg, his Grandfather and Grandmother, Ernest Alton Thornburg and Naomi Bracewell Thornburg and his children’s Mother, Margie Adelle Bennett. Survivors: 2 Sons; Grandson; Numerous Cousins and Friends. The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Wednesday, June 19.
