MRS. IONNA KATHREEN THIESSEN, age 71, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, October 26, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Bishop Matthew Floyd officiating. Mrs. Thiessen was a native of Winnipeg, Canada, a member of First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg , a graduate of Westgate High School in Winnipeg, and received her bachelor degree in psychology from the University of Manitoba. She was a retired mental health coordinator for the Department of Juvenile Justice for over 15 years, enjoyed traveling, camping, yardwork, working in her flower garden, cooking, spending time in the kitchen, and most of all spending time with her husband and her family. She was preceded in death by her Father, Richard Thiessen. Survivors: Husband – Herman Davis of Eastman; Daughter – Lara McCabe of Winnipeg, Canada; Step-Daughter – Brandy Brown (Larry) of Chester; 3 Grandchildren – Anna Brown, Jess Brown, and Elijah Brown; Mother – Kathy Thiessen of Winnipeg, Canada; Brother – Randy Thiessen of Winnipeg, Canada; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence of Herman Davis, 1203 Roddy Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:30PM-2:00PM Saturday, October 26.
