Mr. Archie Strickland, age 72, of Eastman passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Savannah. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in the chapel of Hardy-Towns Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Harrison officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Strickland was born July 4, 1947 in Pierce County, Georgia to the late Ella Crawford Strickland and William Henry Strickland. He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church, a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army, a member of American Legion Post 126, and retired from Gilman Paper Company. He was also a passionate woodworker, known for his handcrafted furniture. He is survived by his wife; sons; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Ollie Strickland Kirkland, Dollie Mobley, Pollie Tirrell, Charlie Strickland, and Harley Strickland.
