Mr. Ronald Lamar O’Neal, age 53, of Garfield, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, after a sudden illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and was a 1983 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He lived in Toombs County for several years and most recently in Garfield. Ron was a member of the New Beginnings in Christ Church. He enjoyed cooking, the outdoors and spending time with his son. He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar O’Neal; an uncle, H.E. O’Neal; three aunts, Betty O’Neal Burke, Ebbie O’Neal Hughes and Toby Burke O’Neal; and two cousins, Alan O’Neal and Chris Burke. Ron is survived by one son and his mother; his mother; two brothers; step-mother; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, July 15th, at 3:00 p.m. in the New Bethel Baptist Church in Dodge County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 until 1:00.
