MRS. SHEILA LYNN SPIRES MATHIS, age 52, of McRae, GA, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, January 20, at McRae State Park, McRae, GA, with Rev. Chuck Yzenski officiating. Sheila was born in Eastman, of the Baptist Faith, attended Dodge County High School, and was a homemaker. She loved her family and spent countless hours with her grandchildren. They were her life. She also enjoyed crafts and enjoyed making things for others. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Sheila was preceded in death by her Mother, Flossie Rebecca May Spires. She is survived by her Husband – Dovie Mathis of McRae; 5 Daughters – Krystal Spires (Brandi) of Enterprise, AL, Katrina Williamson (Andrew) of McRae, Wendy Mathis of Hazlehurst, Amy Mathis of Lumber City, and Tiffany Mathis of Twin City, GA; 12 Grandchildren – SaNyah Spires, Sophia Brown, Stephanie Brown, Snevaeh Deal, Serenity Williamson, Nigel Griffin, Bella Lopez, Marisela Lopez, Aaron Griffin, Zachary Griffin, Alyssa Griffin, and Zayden Thames; Father – Buddy Spires of Eastman; 2 Sisters – Karen Spires of Rentz and Debra Spires of Soperton; Aunts – Linda Harrell of Rome; 5 Nieces – Jessica Burnsed (Aaron), Becca Reid, Kalyn McDonald (Rigo), Kelly Morris (Joseph), and Nikki Mathis (David); Several Great-Niece, Great-Nephews, and Numerous Cousins and Friends.
