Chester – Mr. Raymon Dykes Arnold, age 80, went home to the lord Wednesday, July 20, 2022, while at home surrounded by family. He was born October 15, 1941 in Bleckley County to the late Mr. Claude Arnold and Mrs. Ruby Dykes Arnold. Mr. Raymon was preceded in death by brothers, Alton Franklin Arnold, Alvin Jackson Arnold, Calvin I. "Bud" Arnold, and Claude "CB" Arnold Jr.; sisters, Ethal Chance and Leola Roland. Raymon attended Cochran High School and was a member of the 1960 graduating class. He furthered his education at Auburn University where he graduated with a chemical engineering degree. Raymon served in the United States Navy and retired as a lieutenant. He went on to work for Uniroyal, Anchor Glass Company and Amoco as the plant manager in Spartanburg, South Carolina where he retired. In his free time you would find Raymon playing golf or working in his yard. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 56 years; sons; sisters; brother; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church with full military honors. Rev. Dan Cook and Rev. Brad Dowdy will officiate. Interment will be the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, July 25, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Fisher Funeral Home in Cochran. The family is at the Arnold residence.
