MRS. SUSIE ARLENE BURNAM OXLEY, age 78, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, August 28, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade officiating, with interment in Bowers Cemetery. Susie was born in Rhine, of the Baptist Faith, and was a homemaker. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Susie enjoyed word search puzzles, birdwatching, and watching her soap operas. She was the daughter of the late Susie Odom Burnam and Orrus Burnam, widow of Raford “Pete” Oxley, and was preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Nettie Hodge and Mary Lee Horne. She is survived by her Daughter; Son; 3 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; Sister; 2 Sisters-in-law; Several Nieces and Nephews. The family may be contacted at the residence. Mrs. Oxley will lie-in-state from 10:00AM-4:00PM, Thursday, August 27, at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.
