Mr. Emory Gregory Haley of Eastman, age 69, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held later this week at Orphan's Cemetery. Eulogy and scripture reading will be given by Thad Haley. Pallbearers will be .... Due to CDC recommendations and social distancing related to COVID-19, the family requests service to be private in an effort to protect family and friends. Mr. Haley was born July 18, 1950, in Dodge County where he spent his entire life. He was a retired farmer and auto mechanic. He was a gifted tractor mechanic working not only on his personal tractors but those of many friends in Dodge and surrounding counties. His tractor mechanic skills were sought after in Georgia and in several other states as well. He enjoyed tending the land and watching crops grow, especially corn, cotton, and peanuts. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and being mischievous with his grandchildren. He delighted in making other people laugh. His greatest treasure was his family. Mr. Haley was the son of Henry Gregory Haley and Marie McDaniel Haley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry S. Haley; and niece, DeeAnne Hartley. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; sons; six grandchildren; brother; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
