MRS. MARY GENELLE SPIRES GIDDENS, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, December 16, 2019 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, December 20, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chad Hendley officiating, with interment in Cottondale Cemetery. Mrs. Giddens was born in Milan, a member of Cottondale Baptist Church, a retired nutritionist and cook for Lolly’s Pre K for over 17 years, and a former employee at Stuckey’s Inc. for over 7 years. She was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a beloved sister. She was daughter of the late Suzanne Lowery Spires and Freeman Spires, widow of Paul Nelson Giddens, and was preceded in death by a Son, Jim Gary Spires, and 5 Siblings, Alton Spires, Ernest Spires, Freeman Spires, Bo Spires, and Gladys Hill. Survivors: Son; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Brothers; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Extended Family Members. The family may be contacted at the residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Friday, December 20.
