MR. JOHN JEFFERSON “JEFF” YAWN, JR., age 73, of Chauncey, GA, died Friday, December 4, 2020 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, December 6, at Chauncey City Cemetery, with Rev. LaDon Connell and Rev. James Hamock officiating. Jeff was a lifelong resident of Chauncey, of the Baptist Faith, a 1966 graduate of Dodge County High School, and a lifelong farmer. He was a true family man who had a deep love for his family. He loved collecting and restoring old cars and loved driving racecars. Jeff was the son of the late Marion Jackson Yawn and John Jefferson Yawn, Sr. and was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Wayne Yawn and Wilkins Yawn. He is survived by his Wife of 53 years – Sheryl Hardiman Yawn of Chauncey; 4 Daughters – Tammie Lewis (Al), Tonya Lewis (Wally) both of Chauncey, Joni Gay (Jeff) of Milan, and Jessi Yawn (Angela) of Gainesville, GA; 7 Grandchildren – Justin Lewis (Brooke), Jordan Lewis, Jerald Gay, Jadie Gay, Joah Gay, Gracie Lewis, and Meg Lewis; 2 Great-Grandsons – Jayse Lewis and Judd Lewis; Sister – Daryl Harrison (Buddy) of Milledgeville; Special Family Friend – Bull Mosley of Chauncey; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Jeff will lie-in-state at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 11:00AM-2:00PM Saturday, December 5 and from 10:00AM-12:30PM Sunday, December 6.
