Obituary

MR. HERMAN CLAUDE “BUDDY” RAGAN, age 80, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, November 23, 2020 at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, GA. A Private Family Graveside Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 25, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Todd Crosby officiating. Mr. Ragan was born in Eastman, GA and was a member of First Baptist Church of Eastman. He was a 1958 graduate of Dodge County High School, attended the University of Georgia and received his associates degree from Middle Georgia College. After graduating college Buddy began his career in the local banking industry and married in 1963. He worked many years as a banker before retiring in the year 2000. He continued to serve on the Bank of Eastman Board of Directors for many more years. He was a member of the Eastman Lions Club and a former board member at the Eastman Housing Authority and the Dodge County Hospital. Buddy was a tree farmer and a member of the Georgia National Guard for several years. He was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman who loved Atlanta Falcons football, hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time at his family farm the “Ponderagan.” Buddy was the son of the late Lois Coley Ragan and Herman Russell Ragan. He is survived by his Wife of 57 years; 1 Daughter; 1 Son; 4 Sisters-in-law; A Number of Cousins, Nieces and Nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions in Mr. Ragan’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
