MR. JAMES DAVID “JIMMY” SPOON, age 56, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 17, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Will Carter officiating, with interment in Union Springs Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Jimmy was born and raised in Telfair County, of the Baptist Faith, attended Dodge County High School, and was a manager at Village Pizza for over four years. He worked as a manager for over 30 years at various restaurants including, Pizza Inn, Minick’s Pizza, and Village Pizza. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his stepchildren, going on car rides, and playing video games. Jimmy was the son of the late Montine McLeod Spoon Lang and James Odus Spoon and was preceded in death by his Step-Father, Paul Lang, Sister, Janice Green Scruggs, Brother-in-law, George Scruggs, and a Niece, Denise Allen. He is survived by his Fiancé – Vanessa Gibbins of Eastman; Stepchildren – Bradley Young, Tytayn Gibbins, and Annamaria Gibbins; 2 Sisters – Rosella Spoon and Kathy Rykard (Bobby) both of Eastman; Nieces and Nephews – Kayla Faircloth (Randy Jr.) of Cobbtown, Joel Rykard (Amber), Chuck Cannon, both of Eastman, Chris Allen (Tonya), Wanda Allen, both of Glenwood, and Tommy Allen of Cadwell; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law – Tommy Sanford and Rebecca Sanford; Numerous Cousins and Friends.
