MRS. JOYCE KELLY BLAND, age 91, of Chauncey, GA, died Thursday, December 16, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, December 18, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tim Brown officiating, followed by interment in Chauncey City Cemetery. Mrs. Bland was born in Chauncey, GA, and was a dedicated and faithful member of Chauncey United Methodist Church. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Chauncey High School as well as valedictorian at Middle Georgia College. She then attended Georgia College in Milledgeville where she received a degree in Education. She was an educator for the Dodge County School System for over 33 years at Chauncey Elementary School. Mrs. Bland was a devoted Christian lady, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family, reading, exercising, and proclaiming Christ while worshiping him daily. She was the daughter of the late Ola Stewart Kelly and Ralph B. Kelly, widow of Thomas S. Bland, and was preceded in death by 7 Siblings, Stewart Kelly, Robert Kelly, Alfred Kelly, Jane Herring, Elizabeth Minter, Mollie Sue Parkerson, and Oris Kelly. She is survived by her Daughter; Son; 4 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family may be contacted at the Bland residence and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:30PM-2:00PM Saturday, December 18.
