VERLIE ANN STRICKLAND PEACOCK, age 77, of McRae, GA, died Friday, April 3, 2020 in Nashville, GA. Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 6 at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Billy Swift, Jr. officiating. Verlie was born in Macon, of the Baptist Faith, and a waitress for many years at The Plantation Restaurant in McRae and Pa Pete’s Restaurant in Milan. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader who loved literature and history and enjoyed listening to county and classical music, especially Waylon Jennings and Beethoven. Verlie was the daughter of the late Willie Clara Williamson Strickland and William Hansel Strickland, widow of Benny Peacock, Sr. and was preceded in death by 4 Siblings, Maybelle Strickland, Mary Martha Reynolds, Bob Strickland, and Thomas Strickland. Sister-in-Law, Betty Thornton. She is survived by 4 Daughters; Son; 8 Grandchildren; 18 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sister; 3 Brothers; 4 Sisters-in-law; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
